Hey guys! I have two Griego-Alessi mouthpieces I want to polish up. They are both in the Silver finish and have started to tarnish a good bit. I have Wright's Silver polish cream and used it on one of the mouthpieces, but it didn't give the result I was looking for. Any tips?
Thank you!
Nick

A standard silver polish clothe that music stores sell to polish silver trumpets.

Using one of those silver polishing cloths, especially the ones already impregnated with chemicals, can make the rim surface rough and tear up your lips. They are fine, as is Wright's, for polishing the outside and getting rid of the shank "ring".
I would use the old aluminum foil / baking soda / hot water trick to get a mouthpiece untarnished, polish the shank, and call it a day.

Personally I’ve used toothpaste on my mouthpieces, including my Griego 5 and it works well. Its subtle, but it feels a little better if it’s been a few months since I last tried making it shiny. It takes a minute or two, but it’s cheap and accessible.

I've used a silver polishing cloth on at least a couple dozen mouthpices through the years and never had any adverse results. One tip is to moisten the mp with a couple of sprays of water before polishing to enhance the effect.
