Fusion Bags Question
I’m curious about the Fusion Bags Premium Series gig bags for trombone. Anyone have one? Are they protective, functional, and quality made? Thanks!

Re: Fusion Bags Question
I have had a bass bag for 2 years. Slide goes inside a zipper pocket with hard plastic protective sleeve. Bell section has plenty of padding and room. Carries 3 mps, cleaning rod oils, stand and more. Don’t usually put a mute in bell section but you could. I like the backpack straps. No problems at all.

I’ve heard the exterior pockets don’t hold much. What is your experience in this?
Do you feel the case offers adequate protection for the slide and bell?
Do you have an experience with the add on exterior bag?

Re: Fusion Bags Question
I have one of these for tenor trombone and it's... meeeh...
Main downside: it's bulky. Very bulky. I also wouldn't put something on it when it's laying down. Getting the trombone in and out is cumbersome. Protection ok because of bulkiness, not because of great design.
Backpack system is excellent. The exterior pockets are super deep but also very tight. So you can't really put a lot of stuff in them. I also wouldn't want to load them up with a wire stand and/or a trombone stand because I fear it would torque the slide.

Re: Fusion Bags Question
I have a friend who has carried his 36b in a Fusion for at least 10 years. He seems to love his. But for the price you might just get a Bona. The Fusion has great bell protection and stands up, which most bags don't do.

You could probably fit both stands in. I find it easy to load components into bag. The case is very protective. It is like a cargo van vs a sports car. I bought from woodwind brasswind cause they have a return option.

Re: Fusion Bags Question
I’ve had the chance to try out a Fusion Bags Premium Series gig bag for my trombone, and I’m really impressed! It’s got excellent padding, which provides solid protection for the instrument, and it’s surprisingly lightweight. The bag is also super functional with multiple compartments for storing accessories like mouthpieces, oils, and sheet music. I actually picked mine up from Deals and Steals Today ( https://www.dealsandstealstoday.com/) offer a while back, and it’s been such a worthwhile purchase great quality at a discounted price! I’ve been using it for a few months now, and everything feels well-made and durable. It’s definitely a great balance between protection and practicality.
