Hi guys, I have one question. What are the differences between the news VBach mpc 5g and the old mpcs with de "Corp" mark.
I have a 6-1/2 al corp and I think the old mouthpieces feels different in the rim but I'm not sure.

As far as I can tell, ALL Bach mouthpieces feel at least a bit different from each other, especially in the various chronological "eras." Apparently Mt Vernon samples are particularly distinct (and special, to some). Perhaps more consistent recently with CNC machining.

Very generally speaking, the older the "corp", the "smaller" it feels, to me anyway. BRAND new Bach mouthpieces tend to feel very large to me, slightly older "large letter" Bach mouthpieces tend to feel very small to me.

Bach sizing has historically been very inconsistent.

I have some Corp mouthpieces that are much smaller (a 3G that would be probably a 4.5G today) and some that are exactly the same (the 6 1/2AL I use now) as more modern ones. I don't think there's a broad term you can apply.

You think are any differences between a 2005 bach 5g and a new bach 5g?

There are differences between a 5G made last week and a 5G made this week! At least historically, on the CNC they are probably more similar.

I would bet that the new Bachs are fairly consistent, now that they are made on a CNC. Even before that move, I've heard that the late 90's early 2000's mpcs. were more consistent, but they all tended towards a deeper cup than (most) of the older ones. I've heard that the 5GL came about because Mark Lawrence was looking for a slightly shallower version like his older model.

I remember a Masterclass with Ron Barron when I was a student. He said in that class that he had 3 different 5G's that he used - a shallower one for high register parts, a medium one for most playing, and a deeper one for low, loud excerpts. I guess there was an upside to the inconsistency of earlier Bach mouthpieces.
