Thanks. You may be right. I thought there was a ring around the outside of the rim highlighted in black. But that may just be lighting.
I love his sound!!

Yeah, I agree. My experience is that those "marching trombones" do better with smaller rather than larger mouthpieces.

In my experience the cup depth is what matters most...too shallow and it'll bark your face off, too deep and it sounds like an anemic baritone. I use a Hammond 13M and 11M with mine and it's the perfect balance for the instrument.
