Gold AND Silver in the arsenal

is it ridiculous for me to think that there would be a reason to have the same mouthpiece is both finishes of gold and silver. Personally, I've fallen in love with gold over the last 3ish years. But I've found that there are certain instances where it becomes too slippery for me. Most commonly when I begin to sweat (i.e. playing outside during the summer).
Would it be silly to have both in the arsenal for different environment situations? I mean, people use plastic mouthpieces for outdoor winter gigs. So maybe not?

I have a Wick 4BL in both gold and silver. I thought about doing exactly what you want but really didn't need the silver one over the gold for outdoor performances (here in New England, where the summer temperature rarely exceeds 85 F (about 30 C)). Maybe if I lived much further south I'd need to use the silver. Meanwhile, the silver version resides in the case of one of the horns it fits and I use it when I grab that horn.

My lips prefer gold surfaces over silverplate. However, I find that gold plate works against me for medium cup depths and shallower, because condensation pools in the cup and things become too slippery for my liking.

That all makes sense to me. I do it to keep a less expensive backup of the same piece.
