Hi, my dad had an old mouthpiece. A reynolds 8-a. I know the company to my knowledge stopped production in 1979. Just how old is this mouthpiece???
I don’t have a mouthpiece with me rn but I found a picture online.
Date of vintage mouthpiece?

My guess is 1950s to 1960s.

Re: Date of vintage mouthpiece?
I had a Reynolds 8A mouthpiece that worked pretty well with a 1958 Reynolds Contempora 35 (0.520" bore w/ F-attachment). [Since sold and no longer in my possession.] This piece is probably a similar vintage.TrombonesRuleTheWorld wrote: ↑Wed Mar 23, 2022 11:34 pm Hi, my dad had an old mouthpiece. A reynolds 8-a. Specs: ~ 24.75mm Cup I.D.; 5.94mm Throat. It fit the oversize Reynolds receiver perfectly. (Standard small shank mouthpieces will typically drop in too far.)
