For sale is my Rath R9DST bass trombone. The valves are dependent Hagmanns, the bell is is "750R" which is his mid weight red brass, the J crook is also red brass. The slide is yellow brass, with a yellow brass crook. The horn comes with 2 leadpipes, a Rath #2 and a Brass Ark BH62 in seamed yellow brass. The horn is in excellent condition, I have really taken care of it and the valves get oiled almost daily (and have been trouble free as a result). There are a couple of minor mute dings, otherwise it looks fantastic.
The horn has been my main horn for the last 5 years and has been used on everything from Bruckner symphonies to Mozart and pops. It produces a huge dark sound, and is a very free blowing horn. The Hagmann valves are as open a Axial Flow valves, but with a much quicker throw. I have always been a fan of the TIS Conns, and this is like a superb, modern version of those old horns.
Price is $3200 OBO
Pictures coming soon.
