6 3/4C “megatone”

Hello,
I would like to try a kind of 6 3/4C with a larger throat and maybe in a heavy blank, like megatone’s.
Seems that they do the 7c megatone but not the 6 3/4C.
I find that the regular 6 3/4 has a too tight throat for me.

Also I would like to have a 25.4 rim instead of the 25…
Do you think there is a similar piece on the market, without going to order a custom one from Bach?

Maybe Greg black 6C do the trick?

MT or LT 100 rim, C or C+ cup, backbore depends on the horn.
Any of those combination would be close. Fine tune to your horn and expectations.

You might want the Nils Landgren. It's not a heavy blank, but hits the 6 3/4C and open throat bit.

Wick 7CS is also what you're describing... 25.4mm rim, larger throat than Bach Cs (6.25mm, same as the Nils)

Wich makes the 7cs Heritage if you like heavy blanks.
Bach makes 6 3/4c Megatone. Delfayo Marsalis played this one.

The 6.5AL megatone has the blank and rim diameter you want (25.4mm), and the throat is wider than the normal .261 throat on the non-megatone 6.5AL. They don't give an exact width though.

The AM is the same thing but even larger in the throat and backbore.

Btw does a 6 3/4C megatone exists?
Cause it doesn’t show up on Bach catalogue, but some cats told me that they had it as a custom order…

Email Jim New and ask him for an NG.2 model, it might be close to what you're looking for. I've been working with Jim for over a year now, trying to mate a 6.5AL rim to a 6-3/4 ish body. I have a bunch of prototypes and this latest one works pretty well. I think we're at a .240 throat, but the throat/slope of the throat is what I need to work on next.
