My big band is missing a second trombone part for angel eyes, arranged by Fedchock. Is anyone able to share a scan?

That's a great idea, do you know if/where individual parts are available?

You can at least see what the notes for the part are in the score, right?

While some publishers (notably Sierra Music) make individual parts available for purchase, ejazzlines (Fedchock's primary publisher) does not. Beyond that, the piece requested (Angel Eyes) appears to be out of print. (JW Pepper's site suggests this, and it's not listed at ejazzlines.)

So it appears that OP's choices are:
1. Remove the piece from the program.
2. Violate copyright by copying the part out from the score.
3. Violate copyright by obtaining a copy from elsewhere.

Even if the piece was in print and ejazzlines did provide replacement parts, I'd be surprised if Fedchock saw anything on his next royalty check. In matters of copyright, my sympathies lie with the creators rather than the publishers. Note also that if the OP chose option 1, Fedchock would lose some money from his performance rights royalty check.

I mean, for no. 1, you're assuming the venue is paying out to ASCAP to begin with. But reading from the score does not violate copyright.

According to Stanton's, the publisher is (was) Kendor Music. Searching Kendor's site for "Angel Eyes" comes up blank, and it's not listed under John Fedchock's name.

The pretty much leaves you to contact John Fedchock directly if you want to stay clean from a copyright standpoint.
