Bach A47i Bell Swap

Post by MrKirk »

Hello,

I will be receiving a Bach A47i and I am fully aware the Artisan A47 series is modular. That being said, I was looking to purchase an Artisan Gold Brass bell to swap the bell out to essentially make it a A47IG. The question I have is what all is involved in swapping that bell out? Whom would you trust to do the swap?

Thanks,

Anthony Kirk

All you do is take out the tuning slide, unscrew the bell, screw the new bell on, then put the tuning slide back in. If you're purchasing an artisan bell, the mounting hardware is already on there.

unless you are butterfingers klutz mode, you should be fine to do it on your own. as bassbone1993 said just take out the main tuning slide, unscrew the bell, remove bell, and put on the new bell and reverse the previous steps. now if the mountings dont line up or the tuning slide feels tooo tight, maybe take it to a tech. just remember that things should not be extra tight or loose after putting on the new bell. if it feels too far out of what it should feel like, dont force alignment or movement and take it to a good tech.
