Griego Wiest Compared To Schilke 47B

Post by Driswood »

Currently playing a Schilke 47B. Looking for information on how the Griego Wiest model compares to a 47B in size and playing properties. Any information would be appreciated.

Can’t find a mouthpiece chart with the Wiest on it.

Thanks,

I contacted Steve. He told me the mouthpiece is patterned after the Schilke 47B, which he played for years. He didn’t know any specs, just that the rim is more comfortable than the Schilke. I’ll be ordering one to give it a try.

A friend has one, but he’s 700 miles away, so I can’t run over and try it.

If this helps anyone...

Rim...what comes to mind is that the rim 'sort of' feels like a Wick Heritage series style rim, and the outer shape of the mouthpiece is 'kind of' like a Heritage design as well (but honed down)...in that it has less mass where the rim is attached to the body of the mouthpiece....a very 'old school' design like the Wick Heritage series says in its' description.
